Accessibility

The NMWA consists of the Main Building with the central museum entrance, the New Wing and the Special Exhibition Galleries beneath the forecourt. Slopes and elevators provide accessibility to visitors in wheelchairs. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance at the Information Desk if any assistance is needed.

  • Wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at the Information Desk.
  • Wheelchair-accessible toilets are located on the 1st Floor of the Main Building and the B2 Floor of the Special Exhibitions Galleries.
  • Seeing eye dogs and service dogs are allowed in the museum.
  • The NMWA does not have parking facilities, so please use the parking facilities near Ueno Park listed below. These facilities are located a short distance from the NMWA so that wheelchair-bound visitors will need to be accompanied by an attendant.
