Two programs for children aged 6 to 10 and accompanying adults are offered. The two are: a service that rents art appreciation tools (instruments), named Bijutool (from the words "bijutsu" [art] and tool); the other is a creative experiential program called Doyo Bijutsu, or "Saturday Arts."
Bijutool is a portable kit to enjoy paintings and sculptures at the museum. Each Bijutool contains different tools, games, and activities for different artworks. It encourages children (ages 6-10) and adults to enjoy art works together in galleries. Families as fist-time visitors or unfamiliar with art are all welcome!
No reservations needed. Check the schedule below and stop by the checkout desk in the permanent collection gallery at the NMWA!
- Dates and hours: August 2013 program has been finished.
“Doyo Bijutsu” is a set of programs combining the appreciation of our collection of paintings and sculptures with experiential activities. Advance booking is required. Please check our schedule and details, and then fax your application to the museum. (This program is conducted only in Japanese.)
