Print Study Room

Since its opening in 1959, the NMWA collection of works on paper, ranging from prints to drawings and books, has grown to include almost 4,500 works that cover most time periods from the 15th century through the early 20th century. These works may be viewed in the Print Study Room by special application for academic research in Western art history and related fields. The following categories of visitors are eligible to apply for Print Study Room viewings:

Print Study Room viewing hours are 1 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Friday of every month.
Viewing is free of charge but is only available by advance reservation.
Please reserve space for your visit and indicate the works you would like to view at least one week in advance via e-mail (print-study(at)nmwa.go.jp ) or by phone (+81-3-3828-5131). The NMWA Search the Collection page provides catalogue information on NMWA permanent collection works. Personal ID is required to enter the Prints Study Room. Up to five people allowed in the Print Study Room at one time.
