Masterpieces from the Museum of Capodimonte in Naples - Lecture Concert “The music coming from the paintings”

During this concert the works displayed in the Capodimonte exhibition will be projected on a screen and it will be possible to enjoy the masterpieces with both eyes and ears. For example, while the work by Tiziano Vecellio “St. Mary Magdalene” is shown, a song by Frescobaldi that has the same theme as the painting, “Sonetto spirituale: Maddalena alla Croce (Spiritual sonnet: Mary Magdalene at the Cross)”, will be performed.
Keiko Takii’s lecture, interweaved with countertenor Tadashi Miroku’s talk, will focus not only on the musical taste of Italian noble families, including the Farnese family, during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, but also on their food habits and table manners.
