A basket filled with grapes, peaches, apricots, and cherries is placed on a cloth-covered table. The scene also includes walnuts, figs and a peeled lemon. These fruits have all been rendered with a high degree of verisimilitude. The painter was the son of the famous still life painter, Jan Davidsz de Heem, and was active in his father's studio.
