Workshops and Other Programs

Workshops combining creative work with in-gallery art appreciation, as well as drop-in workshop programs are held. These programs are suitable for family visitors who want to fully enjoy an extensive visit to the NMWA. Program contents and how to apply and participate methods differ, so please see each section for relevant details. Events held on an occasional basis are announced just prior to the event day.

Family Programs ‟Doyo Bijutsu” (Saturday Art Workshops) *in Japanese only

“Doyo Bijujtsu” is a program to help kids and adults enjoy the paintings and sculptures displayed in the Permanent Collection Galleries. These programs include creative and other experiential elements, along with viewing sessions that encourage each visitor to discover and notice the art works in new ways.

Target audience 6 to 9 year olds and accompanying adults
Dates Programs held in Spring (April to May) and Autumn (October to November).
*Timing and content may change due to various circumstances.
